Memoir, ca. 1942-2001.

A well written short history of Thomas' military life, from his drafting in 1942 to his release in 1945. Thomas initially went into the Air Corps assigned to become an aircraft mechanic, but was eventually accepted into the Aviation Cadet program and trained to be a pilot. After his pilot training he served as an instructor to other Aviation Cadets then was reassigned to be a First Pilot in a B-17 bombing unit. His crew and the rest of the bombing group was sent to England where they flew bombing missions over Germany until VE-Day, after which he was sent to fly in the Pacific Theater, but never made it there as the Japanese had capitulated and the war was over. He then returned home to his wife and son (born while he was in the service) and went back to College at Brigham Young University.
